Reverse osmosis is a water treatment process that uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove dissolved solids, such as salts, minerals, and other contaminants, from water. In reverse osmosis, water is pushed through the membrane under high pressure, while contaminants are left behind, resulting in purified water. After the reverse osmosis process is complete, purified water is treated by UV light disinfection as an additional safety measure.
